Procurement Lead

Job Summary

Due to increasing expansion, we are hiring a Procurement Lead. Reporting directly into the Group Financial Director, you'll work closely with Senior Stakeholders across the business and the Commercial Analyst team.

Your background is ideally a BPO/Contact Centre where you have supported the achievement of procurement value targets and reducing spend across the company. You're highly analytical and have extensive experience being responsible for business strategy, performance management and risk management.

Responsibilities and Duties

Business Strategy Management:

  • Responsible for the oversight and development of capital budgets and informing capital rationing decisions in Abtran
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for commercials on vendor evaluation, qualification, and competitive bidding needs
  • Educate internal customers and vendors on all relevant commercial procedures and policies
  • Partner with internal customers to positively influence spending decisions
  • Assist in development of formal solicitations (RFT) for equipment and services
  • Support the costing process for inputs into commercial tenders where systems or services are being procured from 3rd parties
  • Provide costing support for Strategic Initiatives where there are capital and overhead elements
  • Drive a cost focused agenda and ensure value in procurements leveraging on our partners, scale and growth prospects
  • Collaborate with team, customers and internal business partners to identify areas for cost improvement

Business Performance Management:

  • Explain the financial consequences of spending decisions
  • Responsible for the oversight and development of overhead budgets and forecasts
  • Responsible for analytical review of actual overheads company spending monthly
  • Support and provide capacity across the commercial team in the provision of financial information and commercial support to business units

Business Risk Management:

  • Ensure that all risks to overhead costs are identified and escalated
  • Analyze financial information to use it for business making decisions
  • Be responsible for governance practices for the monitoring of budget overruns
  • Collaborate with teams across the company to ensure all vendor contracts are in place
  • Ensure that service levels are incorporated into vendor contracts to mitigate the risk of poor performance
  • Be involved in new business implementation activities while ensuring that value for money is achieved and that budgets are managed effectively
  • Educate internal customers and vendors on all relevant commercial procedures and policies
  • Ensure that a robust purchase to pay process is followed across the company
  • Ensure that internal control processes are followed when it comes to procurement

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a similar discipline
  • Demonstrated creative problem-solving and analytical skills within a fast-paced, deadline driven, and challenging environment
  • Ability to translate large amounts of data into useful information and draw conclusions quickly
  • Experience in competitive bidding, supplier qualification and supplier management (2+ years)
  • Industry experience in technology services or equipment sourcing or purchasing (2+ years)
  • Experience with end-to-end procure-to-pay process
  • Demonstrated ability to work with technical and non-technical business owners/partners to overcome obstacles and deliver results
